1.Please tell me how can I customize the email sent to the user at the time of registration.

2. Also could you tell me how can i hide the admin toolbar when the user logs in. multiple users can regsiter, so I dont want to hide the admin tool bar manually for all of them. is there a way to do it once and for all ? ..

The changes to “Improved user capability integration” shouldn’t break any existing solutions out there doing forum restrictions. bbPress 2.5 is going to focus on performance though with ‘Per-forum moderation’ & ‘Forum subscriptions’ slated also for 2.5 this will bring us closer to better forum management for users.

I cannot reproduce the issue of missing bbPress wp-admin panels with any of these plugins: GD bbPress Attachments, GD bbPress Tools, GD bbPress Widgets, that’s not to say it isn’t happening. I will keep an eye on Milan Petrovic’s Twitter feed to see if he comes across any issues himself.

Permissions and caps with bbPress is a hard (for me anyway) to grasp at a code level, I do know that essentially bbPress is ahead of WordPress in some ways in this aspect and the fact that bbPress is built on top of WordPress this is going to constantly evolve. The ‘other’ forum packages that are available do have finer granular permissions but none of them integrate with WordPress the way bbPress does (I am up to my 27th forum converter now BTW).

These bits will come, hopefully sooner rather than later and the dev’s that contribute code for bbPress are acutely aware of this type of feature request and I am quite sure it is kept in their mind as code is written for anything for example as mentioned above ‘Per-forum moderation’ & ‘Forum subscriptions’ slated for bbPress 2.5, these two features alone make for a great start in getting more of the types of features you are referring to.

Installed latest from add new. Now website or admin panel does not load.

Had to remove bbPress folder from plugin directory in order to get our site back up.
Tried manual install of plugin but same thing.
We are using the FLexForm by swiftIdes ver 1.5 theme which is great and works wonderfully.

Auto role does not seem to be working after upgrade to v2.4 from v2.3.2. I am using WP v3.6.

As others have stated, the widgets no longer show the date and author! Need to fix this ASAP!

@nykess Thanks, I linked to the widget issue in my previous post above. The user Gravatar are still using 80×80 Gravatars and has not changed, the line break between the username and forum role has also not changed. How have you customized your theme? It sounds like the either the bbPress or a theme update has overridden your customizations. Can you start a new topic and give some more detailed information on each of these. You can also download all previous versions from http://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress/developers/

The changes on visual editor (2.3.1, 2.3.2) breaks Ckeditor compatibility.

Here comes a hugely disappointed bbPress user of just a few hours. I was so excited to have found a bb seemingly meant to integrate well with WP. What a pain this thing is. The only easy part is to get the plug in and see it in the back end, after that it is mostly an illogical disaster, from the basics (like trying to figure out how to see the forum), to making it work with a theme, to tweaking a theme, to trying to make some sense of bb structure etc. I think the developers have taken a completely wrong route to make things work, with too much of WP back-end reuse without giving it a second thought of how it was going to be implemented, and then used by the followers. I am yet to find ONE board that looks half as good as majority of other free bb software out there. It is sad, that a team responsible for WP development would drop a ball to this degree.

My excitement lasted just a few hours, I even started participating in the translation routine, but unfortunately I don’t see how it is worth it.

I am Currently using vbulletin for my Webmaster Forum website. I would like to shift to bbPress. I want to know is there any support available for auto link conversion such as ones available by other forum software?

I’m having an issue with bbpress. I’m not sure why this has started, but when the bbPress plugin is active, these two lines of text appear at the top of the screen when viewing the Dashboard and/or the website pages:

We’ve updated our WordPress to version 3.5.2 and also updated bbPress to 2.3.2. We ran several other updates at the same time, and then the forums function stopped working.

Any ideas of how I can fix this?

This might sound like a wild hack in the dark but I thought I’d have a go at simply making the second parameter an array, like so:

and much to my surprise this seems to have solved the problem in as much as the error warning is gone and as far as I can tell so far, the two (private) fora I have set up seem to be running as normal.

I have installed the update in my tester site and I have lost the visual editor, also the “Ckeditor for wordpress plugin” seems to be not compatible.

It’s fixed with the 2.2.4 update of Jetpack.

When you change the FORUM ROLE any user via forum, then in the WordPress administration is forum rule unchanged, even though the user already has rights moderator or administrator. Can you change the forum role of the user via WordPress administration or not?

I tried to change the user role of the participant to moderator in the WordPress administration and nothing happened. I tried to change the role through the forum and role has changed, but the administration remained WordPress original role. Is this normal?

I would like to see an option on the settings page to turn on the visual editor instead of fidgeting around with placing code somewhere…

I’m hoping a Preview button could be added next since HTML editor is now the default.

@julien1975 I’m having the exact same issues… No forums available for access from the admin panel, no “Forums” under tools or settings, absolutely no way to administrate the forums except from the front-end. I can’t deal with replies or topics on a bulk scale either now. REALLY hope this gets resolved soon.

It feels like every time I get bbpress situated, something else breaks…

I never cared for the visual editor anyways, but the HTML form appears to now be stripped down.

Was header tag and other HTML support removed or is there something wrong on my setup?

I’m getting errors on converting vBulletin to bbPress where it won’t convert tags. Once I “repair”, it says that it fails on converting users, as well as no replies have converted.

The search bar only appears on the page with the /forums/ slug and it doesn’t return any results for strings known to have hundreds of results. Here are my search results for the string “openears” on my forum about the framework OpenEars:

This is on a site with a Woo theme and WooCommerce FWIW.

After the update I couldn’t view topic content on my site but could see it when logged into the admin part for editing. Also, I had to make each topic ‘sticky’ to see it on the forum. I removed the plugin ‘bbPress moderation’ and it was OK after that. This means that I can’t use the moderation plugin so anyone can post a reply. I want to be able to moderate each reply. Is there a solution?

For the admin area, after further investigation, the only reason I saw the Forums, Topics and Replies menus at all was because of my Post Calendar plugin. Once I disabled that, the Admin menus for bbPress disappeared entirely.

And I’m with @wildomains, I had to disable ‘bbPress moderation’ to get to see the posts. I want to have that plugin, so hopefully either they will update, or whatever change in bbPress broke it can be changed back.

I concur that bbpress moderation hides everything. Once deactivated, I’m seeing them just fine.

I can’t seem to find the search function everyone’s talking. Is this enabled automatically or my theme is blocking it? Help.

Lost admin panel widget for “Forums, Topics and Replies”. Getting this cryptic message error “Cheatin’ uh?”. When trying to access Forums, Topics or Replies through “Right Now In Forums”.

Where can I get 2.24 version?
